Where to Find Help
UPDATED May 10, 2010
To file for a Family Violence Protection Order in Georgia you will need to obtain the necessary paperwork from a Georgia State and Local Program or Georgia Legal Aid and bring them to the clerk of court at the Superior court in your county to file. Generally, judges in Georgia prefer that a lawyer or an advocate assist you with the filing, but depending on the court you may be able to file on your own. You can also find forms online through our Download Court Forms page.
To file for a Bond for Good Behavior you will need to file at the Magistrate court. To find the magistrate court nearest you visit the GeorgiaCourts.gov website and choose your county from the drop down menu.
