Where to Find Help
UPDATED March 27, 2012
You may apply for Temporary and Permanent Orders of Protection by filing a sworn petition in court. Orders of Protection may be filed in justice, city, municipal, or district court. Find the civil court clerk and request a petition to apply for an Order of Protection.
At the courthouse, the clerk will provide you with the forms that you need to file. If you need assistance filling out the form, ask the clerk for help. You will also find links to online forms at our Download Court Forms page. You may also get help with the court system through one of the domestic violence agencies listed on our MT State and Local Programs page.
Listed below are telephone numbers and addresses for the clerks of the district courts in Montana. For information on the court system in Montana, go to www.findlaw.com/11stategov/mt/courts.html.
