They provide legal advocacy and direct court support (not legal representation) to victims of domestic violence and abuse. Legal advocates provide victims with paperwork they need to petition for a protection order, help them prepare to go to court without an attorney, attend hearings with the victim, and help arrange service of court documents to the defendant.
