The Family Crisis Center provides emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis intervention services, supportive housing, violence intervention programs, and preventative education and awareness. The Family Crisis Center’s Outreach offices have varying hours and varied resources. Please call or make an appointment before driving to any of the outreach offices. The Family Crisis Center serves Bastrop, Colorado, Fayette, and Lee Counties.

Families In Crisis, Inc. (FIC) provides services to people experiencing family violence, sexual violence, and homelessness. Services include emergency safe shelter, transitional and permanent housing assistance, crisis intervention, counseling, case management, a 24-hour hotline, hospital accompaniment, support groups, life skills classes, and information and referrals. FIC serves Bell, Coryell, and Hamilton Counties as well as Fort Hood.

American Gateways, founded as the Political Asylum Project of Austin (PAPA), serves the low-income immigrant community throughout Central Texas. AG provides legal services, such as assistance with T and U visas, asylum, Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA) petitions, representation in immigration court, permanent residency and naturalization, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and family-based petitions. AG also provides community outreach and education resources to immigrant communities and local stakeholders. American Gateways serves Bastrop, Bell, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Coryell, Falls, Fayette, Frio, Hays, Karnes, Lampasas, Lee, Llano, Milam, San Saba, Travis, and Williamson Counties.

Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. provides services primarily to victims of domestic violence and to others as well. Residential services include a shelter for battered women and children, a 24-hour crisis hotline, individual and group counseling for women and children, on-site attorneys for legal assistance, on-site school for children (pre-k – grade 12), on-site adult education, case management services, transitional housing, and on-site primary medical and dental care. Non-residential programs include counseling services for men, women, and children, Violence Intervention Program, transitional housing, Providing Options With Educational Resources (P.O.W.E.R), Youth Substance Abuse Intervention Program, Community-Based Counseling Program, legal services, court liaison, sexual assault resources, parenting program, and a celebrating families program. Phoebe’s Home provides services to victims of domestic violence who are in need of emergency shelter. Services include emergency shelter, nutritional meals, laundry facilities, daily needs (toiletries, clothing), transportation, and recreational activities. Phoebe’s Home serves Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington Counties.
Twin City Mission
Twin City Mission’s Domestic Violence Services Program provides services to victims of domestic violence and dating violence. Services include shelter, counseling, case management, legal advocacy, safety planning, and career assistance. All services are provided at no cost. Twin City Mission serves Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington Counties.

The Crisis Center’s services include accompaniment to the hospital, police interviews, and court proceedings, and legal advocacy. It also has support groups and temporary shelter. The Ark provides services to victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, a 24-hour emergency shelter, emergency relocation, and legal advocacy (Protective Orders), support and outreach services, collaboration with other agencies for job placement, assistance with utility deposit waivers, short and long-term assistance is provided as well. The Ark is pet friendly. The Ark serves Brown, Coleman, and Comanche Counties.

Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center
Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center provides services to women, children, men, and families who have been victims of family, sexual, or dating violence. Services include a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline, walk-in assistance & emergency shelter (food, clothing, and transportation provided), medical advocacy (accompaniment to doctor’s office and hospital), legal advocacy (law enforcement office, prosecutors’ office, and court accompaniment along with protective orders and other legal assistance), other client advocacy (job assistance, in-shelter counseling-individual and group, referral services to other helpful agencies), and outreach counseling for child and adult victims and their loved ones in area and communities and schools. Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center serves Burnet County.
