SAAFE House provides services to men, women, and children who have been victims of family violence and sexual assault. Though, the shelters are specifically for women and children only. SAAFE House’s services include crisis intervention, legal and medical advocacy, information and referrals, emergency lodging and transportation, support services for secondary victims, safety planning, and education and prevention. SAAFE serves Walker, Polk, and Trinity Counties.

Focusing Families provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their family. Services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, crisis intervention, individual counseling, women and children’s shelter, accompaniment services for medical, legal and social services, support groups, community education, professional education, and a volunteer program. Focusing Families serves Waller, Washington, Austin, NW Harris, and Grimes Counties.

Casa de Misericordia
Casa de Misericordia offers services to individuals affected by domestic violence. Major services include: a 24-hour hotline, counseling services for adults and children, legal assistance, outreach education, non-residential/outreach services, community referrals, assistance with judicial system, recreation center for women and children, and shelter services. Casa de Misericordia serves Jim Hogg, Zapata, and Webb Counties.
Serving Children and Adults in Need
Serving Children and Adults in Need (SCAN) provides services to adults and children who are in need of prevention programs, intervention programs, treatment programs, or other programs such as trauma recovery programs. SCAN serves Cameron, Dimmit, Duval, Frio, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Kleberg, LaSalle, Maverick, Real, Starr, Uvalde, Val Verde, Webb, Zapata, and Zavala Counties.
Wharton
The Crisis Center (Wharton office)
The Crisis Center provides services to victims of family violence, child abuse, and sexual assault. Services include emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis line, a children’s advocacy center, a sexual assault program to assist victims, a domestic violence program to assist victims, support groups and counseling, legal advocacy, assistance in getting a protective order and accompaniment to law enforcement departments, court hearings, district/county attorney’s office and the hospital. The Crisis Center serves Wharton and Matagorda Counties.
Wichita
First Step, Inc.
First Step, Inc. provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, legal advocacy, hospital advocacy, a children’s program, and education and training. First Step, Inc. serves Wichita County.
Willacy
Family Crisis Center, Inc. (Raymondville office)
The Family Crisis Center, Inc. provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and to their children. The Crisis Center’s services include accompaniment to the hospital, police interviews, and court proceedings, and legal advocacy. It also has support groups and temporary shelter. The Family Crisis Center, Inc. serves Northern Cameron and Willacy Counties.

Hope Alliance provides services to victims of family and sexual violence. Services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, transitional housing, accompaniment, legal advocacy, counseling, support groups, and education and prevention. Hope Alliance serves Williamson County.

Wise Hope Shelter & Crisis Center
Wise Hope Shelter & Crisis Center provides services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and/or stalking. Wise Hope’s services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, crisis intervention, victim advocacy, police/hospital accompaniment, protective order assistance, temporary shelter, information and referral resources, legal advocacy, crime victims compensation assistance, victim impact statements, counseling and support groups, and community education and prevention. The Domestic Violence Task Force serves Wise County.
