The Lawyer Referral Service is a state bar program which helps the public in locating an attorney to assist with their legal need. Attorneys who participate in the referral service agree to charge not more than $50 for an initial 30-minute consultation. The fee for any additional work must be agreed-upon by the client and lawyer. To get a referral, complete the form online or call the office.

If you are a victim of abuse, you may want to ask the Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service whether or not they screen for lawyers who are experienced in handling domestic violence cases. For a suggested list of questions to ask regarding the lawyer’s fees and experience when interviewing an attorney, go to our Choosing and Working with a Lawyer page.
